I previously bought the old Android app. Do I get the new app for free?

We have changed the pricing structure of the Carbs & Cals app from a one-off payment to a small monthly or yearly subscription. The reason we did this is because the one-off payment model didn't generate anywhere near enough income for us to sustainably maintain the app, and the subscription model will allow us to do this.

IF YOU HAVE THE OLD APP INSTALLED
If you currently have the old app installed on your device, You will get access to the FREE Legacy Plan, which has all the foods and portions from the old database, and most of the features. You can also choose to have a 1-year FREE trial of the Unlimited Plan (all new features and new foods / portions)..  Simply update to the new app and then purchase the "Yearly Plan with 365 days FREE".

You will be asked to add a payment card, but this will not be charged until after the free trial, and you can cancel at anytime.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE OLD APP INSTALLED
If you have previously purchased the Android app but do NOT have it installed on your device, then we can give access remotely to the Legacy & Unlimited Plan Trial. To claim this, please do the following:

  1. Search your emails for "google play order receipt" to find your receipt for the old Carbs & Cals app.
  2. Forward the email to us at support@carbsandcals.helpscoutapp.com
  3. In the email, please state you require access to the Legacy Plan & Unlimited Plan Trial as you are a previous customer. 
  4. Send a report from the app by doing the following
    1. Go to profile (top right) of the homescreen. Then tap 'View My Plan'
    2. Then tap 'Send to customer support' 
    3. This will open an email please put your name in the subject line and press send. 

Once we receive your email and report we will find your previous order. We will then grant access remotely,
